WHAT IS FEAR?

In psychology, a distinction is made between fear as a state (state anxiety) and fear as a trait (trait anxiety). While state anxiety is a temporary emotion resulting from a real danger, "trait anxiety" leads to situations being assessed as dangerous even without an acute threat.

Fear manifests itself physically, among other things, through an acceleration of the pulse, dilation of the pupils and wringing of the hands; psychologically it acts as a feeling of horror and hopelessness.

Fear can weigh people down and even psychologically ruin them. However, because of its warning function, it is often life-saving. Since fear is created in the unconscious part of our minds, it overcomes people involuntarily and uncontrollably. This makes it difficult to treat anxiety disorders with usual therapie methods. But since hypnosis works with the unconscious, it is the method of choice for all kinds of anxiety disorders.

WHAT IS A PHOBIA?

Those who suffer from a phobia have a strong and persistent fear of a certain object or situation - for example a spider or going to the dentist. A phobia is characterized by an inappropriate fear and physical reaction evoked by the situation or the mere imagining of the situation.

Anxiety disorders are among the most common mental disorders. Among them, the specific phobia is the most common. Almost every tenth person suffers from it at least once in their life. A specific phobia often begins in childhood, sometimes it only develops between the ages of 30 and 40.

The range of possible fear/phobia triggers is almost infinite. A number of fears have their own medical terms:

  • Acrophobia (fear of heights)

  • Agoraphobia (the fear of any place or situation from which it may not seem possible or difficult to escape, or where help is not readily available should sudden panic symptoms occur)

  • Arachnophobia (fear of spiders) - Animal phobias, such as the fear of spiders, are widespread.

  • Aviophobia (fear of flying)

  • Carcinophobia: (fear of cancer)

  • Ceraunophobia (fear of thunderstorms)

  • Claustrophobia (fear of tight spaces)

  • Emetophobia: (fear of vomiting)

  • Necrophobia: (fear of death or dead things)

  • Nomophobia (fear of being without a cell phone).

  • Social phobia (the fear of being judged negatively in social situations)

  • Vaccinophobia (fear of vaccinations)

WHAT IS PANIC?

Panic attacks are periods of intense anxiety that can last up to 30 minutes. Strong feelings of anxiety, tachycardia, shortness of breath, sweating and dizziness are typical symptoms. When panic attacks recur, it's called panic disorder.

Some feel tightness or pressure in the chest and abdomen. They experience shortness of breath and chest pains or hyperventilate. Consequences are often dizziness and nausea.

What stays after an attack is the fear that it might happen again - ther fear of the the fear! Affected people often try to avoid any situation that they identify as triggering. In extreme cases they even cannot leave their homes anymore.

In 5 online sessions (90 min. each) we will use modern hypnotherapy methods, systemic tools, and breathwork techniques, depending on your needs and stage in the process.

Additionally you will get access to online video material
for breathing exercises,
from which we can select the specific exercises suitable for you. This video material is optional. The hypnosis program can of course be done without it.

According to § 4 No. 14 letter a UStG (German Law), medical treatments in the field of human medicine are exempt from VAT. Unfortunately, Hypnotherapy is usually not covered by health insurance. In case of doubt, please contact your health insurance.
